Number Words and Numerals

Select a starting number and “count by” sequence you would like students to work on. You can mix up the order of the flying saucers and have the students rearrange them or cover one of the flying saucers with the star and see if students can say the numeral on the hidden flying saucer.

This site works on numeral recognition. Students are given a choice of three numerals and asked to select the correct numeral. Numerals range from 0-9, 10-20, and 20+

Butterflies in a 10 Frame. Children are asked how many butterflies flew away and how many are left.

Click on the fingers to raise and lower them to represent different quantities. This site may be useful for students who can’t use their fingers.

Drag the numbered wings to the butterfly bodies that equal the number on the butterfly body. Example: Add wing 6 and wing 3 to body 9.

The aim of this activity is to make an addition number sentence equivalent to the target number displayed.

After Okta hides some bubbles under a shell, he either adds more bubbles or takes some away. Students have to determine how many bubbles are left under the shell.

Before you start downloading, I suggest you create a structure to organize your new materials.  If you have taken Add+Vantage Math Recovery, try using categories from the “Classroom Instructional Framework for Early Number” in your handbook.  It will be helpful to have folders on your computer and folders or binders for hard copies.
